Happy Halloween!

Since the MJ version scares the pants off of me (and I’m sticking with Nicole Richie’s anti-slut-oween costume mantra … a.k.a., pants on):  a prettier, happier version of Thriller

Friday Link Love

Like most of the world, I LOVE Halloween!  And as the Halloween-inspired posts roll in, I can’t help but smile.  I hope these do the same for you.

Allure goes straight to the makeup artists to give their best lessons for Halloween looks, and most of the inexpensive makeup looks are fairly easy to do.  #BecauseItsOkayToWaitUntilTheLastMinuteToComeUpWithAHalloweenCostume

For a chic Halloween costume alternative, Glitter-n-Glue’s got you covered.  Check out this DIY glitter skull sweatshirt – this piece combines all of my favorite things: DIY, glitter, skulls (because I think I’m punk), and sweatshirt forgiveness so that I can unabashedly consume Halloween treats.  An all around win.

This article had me laughing out loud.  Also, eerily true.  ‘Turning Tricks-for-Treats – the Most Inappropriate Kid Costumes on Sale This Halloween.

love, want, need = Red Shoes

When you grow up with brown hair, your childhood idols are princesses like Belle and Jasmine.  I was an old movie buff at the ripe old age of six, and so I fancied myself a Dorothy.  And naturally, I wanted red glittered mary janes to prove my allegiance.  Not much has changed in the last #$%*@^&)! years, and I continue to envy ruby red slippers – with precarious heels, luxe leathers, and big girl attitude.

Gold Link Chain Necklace

reese-witherspoon-2-660

Reese Witherspoon’s go-to necklace – an Irene Neuwirth rose gold large-link chain, and I’m smitten.  Perfect on its own or for layering, the heavy chain link necklace is perfect for Fall and season to come.

And because I don’t have several thousand dollars lying around for the real deal, a few chic alternatives:

{Clockwise from left to right: Betsey Johnson Chain Text Round Link Necklace, $38; Kenneth Jay Lane Gold Link Necklace, $80; Tory Burch T-chain Necklace, $195; Vince Camuto Toggle Link Necklace, $112; American Apparel Tina Necklace, $40}
