I Made You A Mixtape

{images a la pinterest}

Hand-holding was awkward, being dropped off at the movie theater for your date – more awkward, but when he made you a mix tape – that was love. Because I live a soundtracked life (more on that here), and because I am a product of the 80s, every Wednesday I’ll make you a mix tape. Who says chivalry is dead? You’re welcome.

Today I thought I’d bring you a fun sampling of my Shazam finds.  What is Shazam, you ask?  It’s this crazy app on my iphone that allows the program to listen to a short clip of a song, and then it spits out the name, artist, album, etc.  I have become so obsessive about identifying songs, that I will silence people in restaurants, department stores, during movies, and of course – my own car.  (By the way, random but true, Marshalls plays great music!)  Back to Shazam – it’s basically a life saver when you have the song name on the tip of your tongue.  Also, please don’t make fun of my embarrassing shazam discoveries.

Sequin StreetStyle

Blame holiday spirit, but lately I’m inspired by everything sparkly. Probably my need to dress up like a Christmas ornament (cue sad realization at age 4 as a Jewish kid – holidays sans sparkly tree are a tad less sparkly.)

Industrial Loft With Pops of Pink

Someday I’ll live in a cool (and spacious) loft with exposed beams, floor-to-ceiling draped windows, rustic wood accents, and polished concrete … but until then, I’ll just swoon over these lovely images.

Sadly, my loft du jour will likely never boast a pale pink vintage refrigerator … a far cry from the manly loft I’m sure my husband envisions.  And I learned my lesson long ago.

Fall For Yellow

Grey day after grey day, I am starting to miss summer. Miami doesn’t get winter, Miami gets overcast.  Sooo, I thought I’d feature a few ways to mix a favorite summer color into your Fall/Winter wardrobe!

I’m a big fan of the bright yellows – though I’m not always bold enough to wear them.  The cold-weather-friendly yellow alternative is mustard, and stores like Anthropologie stock plenty of gorgeous mustard hued pieces.
