Iris Apfel for Mac Cosmetics

4 COMMENTSI’m practically giddy over MAC’s latest celebrity-driven pairing with Iris Apfel. Don’t get me wrong, pop stars like Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj dreamed up a few fabulous shades of hot pink that I barged into department stores for, but this collaboration has my head spinning … because I.WANT.IT.ALL.
I have long been fascinated by New York and Palm Beach based designer, Iris Apfel – her ability to mash together fashion and design never ceases to amaze me. The eccentric feather-loving designer is now 90 years old and still collaborating.
Apfel was famously quoted – on buying inexpensive clothes – “What the hell, if they don’t fit, I’ll turn them into pillows”. My kind of lady.
Apfel’s makeup collaboration is undoubtedly fabulous – the 20-piece line, which is mostly named after birds that were featured in a museum exhibit curated by Iris, is full of bright jewel tone hues and deep neutrals.
