DIY Pom Pom Flowers

I recently posted about DIY pom pom garlands made of yarn over on Glitter Weddings, and I was surprised to find so many sweet ways to use these fluffy little poms!  I’m particularly smitten with these adorable little pom pom flowers.  I tend to hoard cool-looking glass bottles, jars, and vases – so this DIY gives me the perfect project to fill my thrift store finds.  Also, any excuse to use a hot glue gun, is my kind of DIY!

You can make your own DIY pom poms by using a pom-pom maker (oh yes, they do exist!) or by hand, plus how to string them on a garland (which I promise are just as simple to make!)

Once you’ve made your pom pom buds, to put the flower together, add a dab of hot glue to the end of a thin twig or sturdy wire and insert into each pom-pom’s center. Hold in place until the glue dries (about 10 seconds) and arrange.  Add wired leaves to make your flower stems look a bit more lifelike.  (More detailed DIY pom pom flower instructions here.)
