Awkward Modeling + Wearing White
Posted on October 15, 2012 by Lexi
25 COMMENTSOn the last day of our recent weekend up North, I dragged my husband out of our mini-vacation reverie to put on a blog photoshoot – one of the few I’ve done for this here blog. I should start by telling you that I’m no model. I don’t know what to do with my hands, or my legs, or my head, or my face. I pose awkwardly, I smile weird, I fidget.
The photoshoot went something like this: My husband would say, “smile” and I would respond, “You’re stupid.” He’d say, “Maybe turn that way,” and I’d throw my purse, err, my prop, at him.
After I decided (prayed/hoped) that we had enough photos, I declared, “The model needs her rest!” and promptly took a nap. I was on vacation after all.
But more importantly, I loved this outfit …
Maybe it’s because I live in Miami, but I can’t see the sense in letting go of my breezy dresses, my light colors, and favorite Summer finds. I know you’re not supposed to wear white after labor day, but why then offer such a thing as “winter whites”? I’m not suggesting you hit the town mid-October in a white pantsuit, but a soft white dress paired with darker-hued Fall layers: very chic.

That is pretty similar to how my shoots have gone with the hubs. I’ll look at the pics and say “do better.” But you look great and I love the outfit. xo

I love the bag. I was contemplating a similar style from Zara just the other day. I’m loving structured bags with a little edge.
I totally agree – loving all of the new structured small-ish bags!
