Be still me heart, this is the most gorgeous necklace for Spring/Summer.  Spotted on Chiara from The Blonde Salad during fashion week, I keep coming back to this bold necklace again and again.  The ombré beauty comes in three stand-out shades, is the perfect longer-length (which I love in a statement necklace, and this unique necklace can be found on Etsy (created by the ever-talented Doloris Petunia).  Awesome.

Sometimes we spend so much time picking out that statement necklace or a bold pair of earrings, and we simply forget about the watches that we wear.  But it’s wrist-reveal season once again, and big bold watches are in.  A great watch is both functional and a fashion conversation-starter, and some of the latest styles, from floral print bands, wraps and stones, friendship bracelet straps, even throw-back tech-wear, are sure to make a statement.

I’m starting a new series: Confessions of a Shopaholic.  In part, it may be for self-preservation. Maybe if I get it out there into the universe – all of the stuff that I can’t stop drooling over – I’ll also get it out of my system.  That seems highly unlikely, but you know, it never hurts to try.  Remember that scene in the book/movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic, when the main character sits in a pile of her things, trying desperately to remember why she needed furry orange gloves, and twelve pencil skirts (or something like that)?  That can’t happen to me. My closet’s too small. (Blame fashion blogging.)

I think this latest wishlist is inspired mostly by my upcoming trip to Europe (still taking suggestions, by the way.)  I’m trying to think minimalistic thoughts. I suggested to my husband that we bring only one luggage … as in, sharing a luggage … one piece of luggage. Needless to say, he laughed … a lot.

I want to bring a day-to-night lightweight purse (which is something I’m usually not very good at … my purses are the weight equivalent of a mac truck.)  I’m also trying to think light when it comes to clothing, not only because of the limited luggage space, but because Europe is seriously hot in June. I’ll be on the look-out for shorts, tank-tops, maxi dresses and skirts, because what kind of vacation would it be if I didn’t get to shop in the name of preparedness weeks (okay, months) in advance?

With Spring in full bloom (plus or minus a little bit of sunshine and warmth in most states right about now), retailers are starting to push the biggest brightest bursts of floral pattern and I kind of love it. I usually shy away from crazy prints … well, other than leopard print (because that’s a neutral, obviously); but these floral prints, many with more muted backgrounds (for instance, I’m really loving those with darker backgrounds, like these 7 for all Mankind Jeans in Midnight Floral), are definitely the type I could get on board with.
