Last year I put together The Ultimate Gift Guide for Mom full of luxe gifts mama wouldn’t normally treat herself to; so in keeping with a new-found blog tradition, I thought I’d share a few over-the-top finds (but plenty with reasonable price tags), because if we don’t splurge on mom, who will?  (And we all know she won’t … she’ll splurge on garden sheers or a new kitchen appliance, ever-practical mama that she is.)  And don’t forget: Mother’s Day is right around the corner, Sunday, May 12th, to be exact.

With Valentine’s Day only two weeks away, I thought it was just about that time to post my Valentine’s Day wishlist so that you all could add to your own lists, give me suggestions of other V-day-worthy goodies, and maybe, just maybe, my own hubby will feel so inclined to check my blog for “research” and order me ten to twelve sets of gold flatware.  A girl can dream, right?  (And you know you’re growing up when you want flatware more than anything else on the annual day of love.)

My mom taught me long ago to never visit someone as a guest without a gift in hand.  I know it sounds a bit dated, but it’s those little things that mean so much to people.  And during the Holiday season, the invites are aplenty, so I’ve learned to collect little gifts throughout the year to have on hand for all of the dinner parties, get-togethers, celebrations, office parties, and more.
