You should picture me bouncing up and down right now … I am SO excited to announce that I WON the Rimmel London Blogger Contest!  I’ve been near-bursting with the news and I am thrilled to finally make the big announcement on my little blog.  I don’t know how to thank you all enough for supporting me, re-tweeting, re-posting, and voting!  You all are phenomenal.  Phenomenal, I tell you!

As a wannabe foodie myself, I always love a good kitchen-friendly gift: a fun new gadget, pretty baking ware and serving dishes, the ultimate in kitchen tech (ahem … the KitchenAid 5-Quart Stand Mixer). The more I cook, the more I’ve learned to embrace the practical things. Today we’re talking beauty.  More specifically, the beauty obsessed … like me.  I’ve decided (totally self-proclaimed) that beauty products make the very best gift.  I mean, you can gift someone Chanel, in a glossy sparkly tube of magic, and it’s reasonable (but totally awesome!)  What girl doesn’t love a lush new mascara, perfect shade of polish, or brand new lipstick?  Plus, there are so many snazzy beauty-meets-tech toys out there right now, it’s easy to gift away for every beauty-obsessive on your list.

So I’m going to get on my soapbox for a minute … bear with me.  We all spend all of this time, effort, and money on our beauty regimens.  We all have make-up brands we live for and moisturizer we can’t live without, but other than a quick brush and floss, what are you doing for that smile?  A great smile is such a huge part of your look, but we put so little focus on it.  Celebrities all have these enviable pearly whites, because they put so much effort into their teeth.  And as summer rolls around, and a great pair of sunglasses and a big smile are key to summer beauty, even with the sweetest new shades, without the mega-watt smile, you’re really only half ready.
