You should picture me bouncing up and down right now … I am SO excited to announce that I WON the Rimmel London Blogger Contest! I’ve been near-bursting with the news and I am thrilled to finally make the big announcement on my little blog. I don’t know how to thank you all enough for supporting me, re-tweeting, re-posting, and voting! You all are phenomenal. Phenomenal, I tell you!
Here’s where it gets awesome: I won an amazing deal with Rimmel (a dream company!), and Rimmel is sending me and hubby to London. Yes, London. Cue second round of squealing and bouncing. And I promise to take so many pictures you’re guaranteed to get sick of me posting them. You’re welcome.
But aside from all of that, here’s why it’s such a big deal for me … (Warning: getting way personal ahead.)

As a wannabe foodie myself, I always love a good kitchen-friendly gift: a fun new gadget, pretty baking ware and serving dishes, the ultimate in kitchen tech (ahem … the KitchenAid 5-Quart Stand Mixer). The more I cook, the more I’ve learned to embrace the practical things. I recently discovered a few things: (1) a hand-mixer is incredibly helpful for quick mixes, (2) a good quality, sharp knife makes life so much easier, (3) having great spices on hand makes everything taste better, and (4) silicone bakeware is awesome. Do you have any in-the-kitchen favorites?

Today we’re talking beauty. More specifically, the beauty obsessed … like me. I’ve decided (totally self-proclaimed) that beauty products make the very best gift. I mean, you can gift someone Chanel, in a glossy sparkly tube of magic, and it’s reasonable (but totally awesome!) What girl doesn’t love a lush new mascara, perfect shade of polish, or brand new lipstick? Plus, there are so many snazzy beauty-meets-tech toys out there right now, it’s easy to gift away for every beauty-obsessive on your list.
These are a few of my favorite things: Naked 2 Palette (The best eye shadow palette … ever. It works for everyone and comes with every shade you never knew you needed.) // Kai Candle (Kai makes the most amazing gardenia scent and the candle leaves your space smelling like a secret garden filled with gardenia bushes. Can you tell I love it?) // Clampless Bombshell Curling Iron (On my wishlist!) // Liquid Liner (Ego boost in a bottle!) // Essie Polish Trio (want.them.all.) // Bath Cubes … that smell like sugar (Need I say more?) // Argan Oil (I’ve heard it’s a must have!) // Nars Hot Pink Lipgloss // Chanel Glittery Glossimer // Kate Spade Make-up Pouch // Juicy Couture Travel Spray Pen Set // Clarisonic (Skin-Saver.) // sweet little hair ties // Bobbi Brown Brushes (Because every girls needs perfect make-up brushes.)

So I’m going to get on my soapbox for a minute … bear with me. We all spend all of this time, effort, and money on our beauty regimens. We all have make-up brands we live for and moisturizer we can’t live without, but other than a quick brush and floss, what are you doing for that smile? A great smile is such a huge part of your look, but we put so little focus on it. Celebrities all have these enviable pearly whites, because they put so much effort into their teeth. And as summer rolls around, and a great pair of sunglasses and a big smile are key to summer beauty, even with the sweetest new shades, without the mega-watt smile, you’re really only half ready.
Plus, we’re all guilty of putting our teeth through the ringer. Coffee? Guilty. Soda? Guilty. Tea? Guilty. Red wine? Guilty. Guilty. Guilty. Okay, it’s official, I’m awful to my own pearly whites, while I spend hours and plenty a pretty penny on every shade of lipstick under the sun.
In comes REMBRANDT® INTENSE STAIN® Stain Dissolving Strips. And thank goodness for that, the guilt was piling up and I was starting to think my teeth weren’t as shiny white as all the celebrities’.
I’ve used at-home whitening strips before … and I’ve hated them. For our own wedding, I attempted to whiten with whitening strips that I was less than in love with. Have you ever tried pulling off those gloppy strips post-whitening-treatment? Yuck.
But the geniuses over at REMBRANDT® did one better and figured out a way to make the strips dissolve. And kudos to a disappearing act well-done! The REMBRANDT® INTENSE STAIN® Stain Dissolving Strips are so easy to put on, dissolve in a few minutes, and taste great. I opted to use the strips before bed, no rinse, no problem. I instantly noticed how shiny and clean my teeth looked, shoving my sparkly grill in my husband’s face, slurring “Look at this! Look how pretty my teeth look!” between gritted teeth. My husband loves me. A lot.
