Alexander Wang Fur Sandal

Not since the Alexander Wang Freja have I been more obsessed with a shoe; so I suppose it’s rather fitting that the object of my affection is by the ever-talented Alexander Wang, once again.  And my gawd, I’m obsessed.

Meet the Alexander Wang Simona fox-fur cape heel (sadly, sold out) with removable fox-fur (see similar: the Chantal; also in love with the Chloe (wow!, and in silver, double wow!), the Colette, the Emina, the Bianca, and the Petra.)

This sassy fox-fur sandal is somewhat scandalous – looking straight out of a boudoir or Playboy bunny shoot.  And paired with jeans – unexpected and sassy.  Next DIY: gluing faux fur to everything.

Zara Studded Flats + 90′s Jellies

Does anyone else remember jellies circa the late nineties?  They were these gummy rubbery plastic sandals that were the absolute worst to walk in – the gummy straps stuck to your feet and rubbed like crazy and the bottoms were terrifyingly slippery in the rain.  Also, I loved loved loved my jellies (regardless of the pain and danger factors.)  Thankfully, Zara took the look of the jelly and made them grown-up, modern, and wearable … then studded them.

Meet the sweetest studded flats I ever did see …

Cap Toe Ballet Flats

I have a soft spot for ballet flats – they’re both easy on the feet and I’d swear I was a ballerina (minus a few feet) when wearing them.  The cap toe just adds a punch of fashion — all the better.

And – a bit of history for you – cap toes began on men’s oxfords or brogues.  The cap-toed ballet flat is actually just a feminine nod to the classic men’s style.

Python Pumps

I tend to go (fairly) understated in putting together an outfit; black is my weakness.  So when it comes to shoes, I throw caution to the wind.  I love me a funky shoe!  And I swear I have an “excuse” … when you’re a professional, or at the very least, a half-time professional – blacks, greys, creams, and nudes – tend to comprise a major part of your day-to-day wardrobe, but with shoes, it’s carte blanche.  My thinking is, the judge can’t see my mirrored tasseled python pumps from way atop that podium … err, right?

Which leads me to my latest love, python printed pumps.  As far as color goes, the python print mixes fairly muted colors together, with a bolder animal print (but not so bold as a dalmatian or zebra print).  Meow! (or hiss, or whatever.)

Shoes I’d Love to Love

But seriously, I love them already.

UPDATE: Thanks to Pinterest, I just learned that the shoes were featured in the DW by Kanye West runway show at Paris Fashion Week, and are likely a part of the new brand (fingers crossed that the hit store shelves!)  The shoes are designed by Giuseppe Zanotti for DW by Kanye West Spring 2012.

Knee Socks + Boots

I am a tights kind of girl.  I wear tights in Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, and rarely feel an outfit is complete without them.  (Seriously, catch me in a bikini and tights – I have no shame.)  But knee-high socks (would also look slightly more appropriate with said bikini), this is something I could dive into – they afford knee coverage (Amen to that!) while looking bohemian and put-together all at the same time. Paired with the right knee-high boots, these knitted socks add just the right element of funky to any outfit.

What say you?  Will you rock the socks?

Inspiration: Gold

Currently craving all things dipped in gold. Continue to blame the Holiday bug.  And don’t laugh at my dream pig.  Stare at that little gilded piggy bank, and within minutes, you’ll want one too.  It’s the power of the pig.  But seriously, how fabulous would he look on a mantel or fireplace ledge?  So chic.

love, want, need = Red Shoes

When you grow up with brown hair, your childhood idols are princesses like Belle and Jasmine.  I was an old movie buff at the ripe old age of six, and so I fancied myself a Dorothy.  And naturally, I wanted red glittered mary janes to prove my allegiance.  Not much has changed in the last #$%*@^&)! years, and I continue to envy ruby red slippers – with precarious heels, luxe leathers, and big girl attitude.
