This week I’m getting a little funky with the mixtape and adding a video element (yeah, 21st century!)

Ob-sessed with this cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”, by Walk Off the Earth. The entire band shares and plays one guitar throughout the song. So cool.

I saw Lady Gaga live last year and I was blown away. She’s an incredibly talented performer + also, she’s completely nuts. My kind of show.

I actually got the chance to watch Radiohead perform live this week in Miami and it was awesome! Thom Yorke performs like a maniac, throwing his whole body into it. … makes me think my dancing is not so bad after all.

Incubus puts on one of my favorite shows ever. And Brandon Boyd rarely wears clothing.

But first a recipe …

White Chocolate/Chocolate Chip Cookie Bark

Last night my husband sprung (sprang? springed? Jerry Springer?) on me just how many office gifts he would need … by today. After picking jaw up off of floor, I got to baking. Everyone loves cookies. And cookie bark with colorful sprinkles – biggest hit ever (or at least close.)

And for the easy-peasy recipe:

What You’ll Need

2 Servings of Cookie Dough

1-2 Bags of White Chocolate Chips or Morsels

M&M’s

Assorted Sprinkles

The Details

Use either store-bought or throw together a quick batch of chocolate chip cookies (I love the Nestle Tollhouse recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag.) You are going to spread the cookie dough into a deeper dish baking pan, so you’ll likely need to make 2 batches or two rolls of the pre-made dough. Don’t forget to grease your cookie pan – I like a combination of parchment paper and baker’s no-stick spray. Once the sheet of cookie dough (it will look like a rectangular cookie cake) has baked, pull it out of the oven, set it on the counter, and melt your white chocolate. When melting chocolate, take it slow, 15-20 seconds, stir, and microwave for another 15-20, repeat until melted. Then pour and spread the white chocolate over your cookie dough and immediately sprinkle with candy. I used M&M’s and assorted sprinkles. Cut or break into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Today I thought I’d bring you a fun sampling of my Shazam finds. What is Shazam, you ask? It’s this crazy app on my iphone that allows the program to listen to a short clip of a song, and then it spits out the name, artist, album, etc. I have become so obsessive about identifying songs, that I will silence people in restaurants, department stores, during movies, and of course – my own car. (By the way, random but true, Marshalls plays great music!) Back to Shazam – it’s basically a life saver when you have the song name on the tip of your tongue. Also, please don’t make fun of my embarrassing shazam discoveries.
