Ideal Bookshelf
Tierney over at Ruby Woo Loves You featured these fab book spine paintings by Jane Mount. I am a self-ascribed book nerd – and these perfect paintings really tickle my fancy. Shockingly (a.k.a., not shocking at all), this talented painter hails from Etsy and has her own sweet Etsy shop, Ideal Bookshelf.
AND, Mount’s amazing paintings can be customized to a genre, color scheme, or even personalized to a person’s favorite set of books. I wouldn’t even know where to begin in choosing a selection of books to be painted for our marital abode – probably a terrifying mash-up of literature, science, cooking, and politics. I suspect Edith Wharton couldn’t sit near Karl Marx. haha, inappropriate literature joke. Someone please humor me and chuckle. K, thanks.
Random Aside: I think I need this shirt…

I Saw The Sign
Designer William Dohman’s kitschy wood signs of Oh Dier are not only darling but instructive. I’m a big fan of the THINK Recycle Wood Sign; for example, placed in front of my shoe closet (yes, the shoes have taken over), that sign could imply “THINK before you enter” or “THINK about how pretty I would look in a new pair of shoes.”

Sweet Surprise
Tonight my wonderful hubby brought home the sweetest surprise: a hardback version of Me: Stories Of My Life by Katharine Hepburn. My gosh, he knows me well.
A screening of The Philadelphia Story (1940) is most definitely in order!
Tracy Lord: Oh, we’re going to talk about me again, are we? Goody.

How I Met Your Mother – The Wedding
Season 1, Episode 11, “The Wedding”
Lily: Honey, this magazine says more and more couples are opting to have nontraditional weddings out in the woods.
Marshall: Well, if a magazine says so, we should go get married in the woods like a couple of squirrels.
Lily: Squirrels don’t get married, Marshall.
Marshall: Like you could possibly know that.
…
Marshall: So you admit it, the groom should have an equal say.
Lily: Oh, yeah, sure, on the stupid stuff, like who comes.
Marshall: So I can invite whoever I want.
Lily: Sure, there’s plenty of room in the woods.
