House of Harlow Nude Sunnies
I’ve been swooning over a few choice pairs of Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 sunnies for some time now (Exhibit A, B, and C) – they’re affordable, chic, and constantly modeled by Nicole herself (so that I can properly check out the product on the runway before purchasing.) But then there came nude, and in cat-eye form, and my world stopped, and I thought, “I must have nude sunglasses.” Now don’t get me wrong, I recognize the pitfalls – (1) I may look like an alien, (2) the standard nude color may in fact be nuder than my face – I’m that pale, (3) nobody will “get it.”
But I’m forging on. I NEED these glasses.

Celebrity Style Love: Ashley Tisdale
It’s official: I have a serious crush on Ashley Tisdale’s celebrity style. Like most fashion gawkers, I flip through the pages of gossip and fashion mags alike, looking for great pieces, but when it comes to Ashley Tisdale’s wardrobe, I want it all. The Disney starlet has a seriously enviable closet – a closet I so desperately want to shop in.
Ashley’s look evolves daily and she has this impeccable ability to pair such seemingly mismatched items at a range of price points. Ashley wears what she likes, repeats when it works (and trust me, plenty of celebrities never ever repeat, ever), and has a healthy dose of covet-worthy couture. Even Ashley’s workout gear is fierce (ahem, I could totally be motivated to go to the gym more with all of Ashley’s neon and metallic sneakers, and a donut at the end of the tunnel.) And girl has one heck of a purse collection! Not to mention – I want all of her cardigans.
And the icing on the cake – Ashley and best friend, Vanessa Hudgens, actually swap some of their favorite pieces and coordinate their outfits on shopping dates, red carpet events, music videos, and vacations – because two closets are better than one. Best described as bohemian chic, the longtime best friends’ style recipe is completely unique. While Vanessa can’t get enough long flowing skirts and hippie-esque maxi dresses, Ashley pairs her more free-spirited pieces with a couture item that really pops – faux fur, a sequined mini skirt, studded couture leather jacket, arms of thick cuffs and chunky rings on every finger, amazing fringed high-heeled booties, enviable denim, sunglasses galore — refined rockstar chic.

We think its tremendous popularity is proof that the 2012 Corolla offers the ideal blend of comfort, value and safety. In it, you’ll find a surprising number of high-end features, like available Display Audio system. It offers remarkable performance and fuel efficiency, plus an impressive list of standard safety features. Factor in its legendary reliability, and it’s even more apparent that Corolla is the smart choice.

The Blanket Wrap Cardigan
The title alone has me sold – before I’ve even delved into the luxe sweater that celebrities and trend-setters all wear, the gorgeous patterns and oh-so-soft textures – no, I was sold at wearable blanket. These sweater coats are literally blankets with sleeves, and I own several. Also known as wrap cardigans, these sweaters have an open front with a whole lot of draping down the center, in lieu of buttons, zippers, etc. They’re absolutely perfect for travel, walks on the beach, trips to … well, anywhere.
But who am I kidding? I wear mine for long days in the office, almost exclusively. Hey, at least I get away with wearing a blanket!

The Full Skirt

I am forever a fan of a full a-line skirt. I love a slightly high waist – to accentuate my own waistline – and a bold flair hem.
If I’m going to wear a skirt, I want to be able to twirl in it — is that so much to ask?
Also, I’m all for the bandage or super-fitted skirt on everyone else, but I’m just not a tube-sock-worn-as-skirt kind of girl; plus, I like carbs. The full skirt offers a skinny-day version and a fat-day version. Multi-use clothing is my fave. (That is, until I one day have a wardrobe to wear outfits only once, a la the Kardashian sisters.)
The “I woke up with a flat stomach and utter willpower” day: full skirt paired with tucked in blouse, thin belt, and highest of heels
The “‘I feel like such a heifer. I had two bowls of Special K, 3 pieces of turkey bacon, a handful of popcorn, 5 peanut butter M&M’s and like 3 pieces of licorice.’”-channeling-Cher-of-Clueless” day: full skirt, lace crop top, no belt, cardigan, snacks in your purse

Shoe Love: Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney Kardashian sure knows how to pick boots. And one pair of flat over-the-knee boots in particular have really won me over, and wouldn’t you know it – they’re totally affordable! One of Kourtney’s favorite pairs: Chinese Laundry Nevada boots (sadly, sold out).

JewelMint & A Major Discount
It all began when I saw this image on Glitter Guide’s Tumblr – the pink sequined D&G blazer, the incomparable Kate Bosworth (she had me at ‘Blue Crush’, … I mean, who didn’t want to surf after that movie?), the turquoise-dipped hair tips {fun dip-dye tutorial, here}, and those rings. Bold, chunky, and totally rockstar – it was love.
And then, as fate would have it, JewelMint contacted me with a chance at partnering up. Obviously, I jumped. And the ring is just fabulous, along with the packaging, the customer service, and the sweet $29.99 price tag on everything that’s on trend and drool-worthy.
And because I love you all, and I myself need more baubles, a 50% off coupon code (50% off your first JewelMint purchase) …
Shop JewelMint with the code: BOCT50
Honest-to-goodness, 50% OFF. Enjoy!

The Pullover Sweater/Dress Combo
{image a la tumblr}
I have always loved the cozy vintage feel of the pullover sweater on top of a sweet dress. I like sweaters, I like dresses, the two together – winning! Plus pairing your summer dresses with sweaters is a great way to transition your favorite dresses into fall.
Then Free People featured a million (or maybe three) loose-weave sweaters over dresses and slips in a summer catalog, and I thought Free People stole my style, and then I thought, yeah … I stole Taylor Swift’s style. But also, Free People has a way of making me feel like all of the vintage and super soft sweaters and dresses currently in my closet are wholly inadequate. Genius sales, Free People. Genius.
Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale, and Alexa Chung all look picture perfect and vintage chic in their sweater/dress combos.

Crazy, Stupid, Love – The Clogs
Every once in a while I spy an item in a movie that I MUST HAVE. I generally turn to The Possessionista, Celebrity Style Guide, or Star Style Inc. – but this time, I had no luck. But I knew I seriously loved Julianne Moore’s clogs.
And then after an exhaustive Google search, there they were – nestled between two other stylish clogs in New York Times’ T Magazine. I knew them instantly.
The ever-popular New York store, No.6 has long designed chunky clogs, boots and sandals. “It’s so much fun to see everyone embracing something that we have been loving for years,” say No.6 founders Karin Bereson and Morgan Yakus of the clog’s current popularity. “It has also been really fun to take a classic and find a way to give it a modern twist.”
The New York-based designer, Karin Bereson of No. 6, began producing a line of clogs for her boutique in Little Italy, in the fall of 2006. “I just felt it,” says Bereson, who was looking for an antidote to the generic and the mass produced. “There has been a movement back to simple, organic things.”
NY’s No. 6 nails the 70s style on the head, and with the recent fashionable advertisement for their signature open toe weave clog, worn by Julianne Moore in Crazy, Stupid, Love, the clogs are sure to take off. (And land on my shoe rack.)
