Burberry Hearts
Holy cannoli, I’m freaking out over all of the heart-covered Burberry NYFW runway goods. Snapped by Garance Dore during fashion week this year, the entire Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013 collection is stunning, but it’s the hearts that really got me. A heart trench, heart clutch, heart blouse, heart panties – I love it all.
The Burberry hearts could also easily be recreated as a fun little DIY project. All you would need is a heart stencil and some fabric paint (plus a pretty canvas – I’m thinking inexpensive trench, zippered clutch, or even this adorable color-blocked canvas tote from Old Navy) and you’re good to go. (Remember my post all about DIY painting a clutch or handbag?) Not that that will slow me down from dreaming of a Burberry heart trench in the least.

NYFW Street Style (Meets Snow)
Maybe it’s that I’ve lived in the sub-tropics most of my life, but I’ve always been in awe of winter-dressing. And February’s fashion week is the pièce de résistance for me. All of the layering, dark colors, bold accessories, and impressive high-heel-meets-icey-ground tight-rope-walking, and I fall a little more in love with the idea of snow every year. (This is vitally important knowing that the hubby and I will be moving – seemingly somewhere cold – in two years time for his residency program … dear match, please be good to us.) Behold, the glamorous cold-weather fashions.

Little Love Notes
Dear Fashion, although I basically idolize you, it’s nice to see the human side. (A look at street style: the pretend and the real.)
Dear pumpkin pie frozen yogurt, thank you for being my one taste of actual Fall. Here in Miami we don’t gt changing leaves or sweater weather, so it’s nice to have something seemingly Fall … every day. I’m hooked. You better be low-cal.
Dear Target, you keep on making awesome leopard print clothes like this dress and these pants, and I’m in.
Dear readers, I need Halloween costume suggestions, stat! My sister and I were actually thinking of dressing up as BFF’s, Rihanna and Katy Perry, but every idea I have for my Katy Perry costume involves gluing some kind of candy or pastry to a leotard and wearing it like a portable bakery – a.k.a., not attractive at all (except maybe to my husband, who may fall in love with me all over again).

Glam Camera Bags + Straps
I’ve always strived to make things that are somewhat icky or bulky-looking appear more girl-ified. And I know I’m not alone here. I mean, who didn’t go crazy with glitter glue pens for the better part of their childhood?
The hubby actually bought me this super snazzy (and supposedly user friendly … err, I think I know how to turn it on) camera many moons ago, and I rarely use it. Part of it is that I am always running around like a crazy woman and I generally just forget it (and later kick myself for it), but also, and I know this sounds awful, it’s big, black, bulky, and kind of ugly. There are some guys and gals who just look so cool rocking cameras around their neck, but they also look so cool in glasses, skinny jeans, and suspenders. I blame hipsters for making me feel self-conscious in skinny jeans! Boy have I run off on a tangent …
Right – the ugly camera. It’s ugly. And I make my husband carry it. When I actually remember to bring it.
But not anymore! Because apparently there are chic Rebecca Minkoff camera cases. I never leave the house without a cute handbag to go with my look, so maybe, just maybe, if my camera were hidden in an RM bag, I’d remember to take it along!
